Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (otherwise known as ART) is recognized as a peer reviewed, evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma. It allows a client to erase old images and rewrite their story through reconsolidation, thereby changing their physiological response to distressing memories. ART utilizes creative tools to help the individual work through ‘emotional blocks’ (such as anger or survivor’s guilt) and targets unpleasant sensations. Likewise, positive sensations are reinforced. The therapist facilitates eye movements, which assist the process and are proven to have a calming effect.
ART does not require that clients share details about their memories. Progress and restoration can be achieved regardless of what the client decides to share. ART can help a range of mental health problems including: Anxiety, Depression, Family Issues, Phobias, Compulsions, Obsessions, Addictions, Poor Self Image, Relationship Issues, Codependency, Grief, Job Stress, Pain Management, and Learning Disabilities.
