Am I In An Abusive Relationship?

Questions to ask yourself...

__  Are you frightened by your partner's temper?
__ Does your partner embarrass you with put downs, and then tell

     you they love you?
__ Do you have to justify everything you do, who you see, and where

      you go?
__ Do you not see friends or family because of your partner's

      jealousy?

__ Does your partner make all of the decisions?

__ Does your partner prevent you from working or attending school?

__ Does your partner take your money or tell you how to spend it?

__ Does your partner threaten to take or harm your children or pets?

__ Have they ever shoved, slapped, choked, kicked, hit, or raped you?

__ Have they ever threatened to kill you - or someone close to you?

If you answered “yes” to even one of these questions, you may be in an abusive relationship.  YOU ARE NOT ALONE:

__ An average of three women are murdered by their partners every

     day in the United States.

__ Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women ... More

than car accidents,  muggings and rapes combined.

__ At least a third of American children have witnessed violence

between thier parents.  Most have witnessed multiple instances.

__ Every 9 seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten in the United

      States.

You have the right to be safe,

to be treated with respect, and to control your own life.
